Barcode Scanners
Barcode scanners capture and read the information in barcodes. Shops use them at the checkout, and warehouses and factories use them for inventory management and for tracking goods. Techcon Solution supplies, sets up and supports Zebra and Honeywell barcode scanners in Hong Kong. We are a Zebra Business Partner and an authorised reseller of Honeywell.

Buying guides and articles
- How Do You Choose a Barcode Scanner? 1D vs 2D, Corded vs Cordless, Handheld vs PresentationStart with three questions. Which codes must you read? A 2D imager reads both 1D barcodes and 2D codes such as QR codes, including codes on phone screens. Do staff need to walk away from the counter? Then go cordless. Do they hold the scanner, or present items to it? That decides handheld or presentation.
- How Can Clinics, Schools and Campuses Keep Track of Equipment?Tag each item with a barcode or RFID label, record every loan, transfer and service in one asset register, and check stock with a handheld instead of paper. A system such as ZOVYX adds reminders for calibration and warranties, while ePaper signs keep notices and directions current without reprinting.
- RFID or Barcode Stock Take: Which Should You Use?Use barcodes when assets are few, easy to reach and labels must be cheap; use RFID when you count many assets, often, in places where pointing a scanner at every label is slow. Barcode reads one label at a time in line of sight, while RFID batch-scans tags by radio. ZOVYX supports both in one register.
